I’m not sure why I have to address whether or not racism exists around the world. This conversation was United States specific.  I’m sorry I did not say “whites can’t experience racism IN AMERICA” although I could also say the same in so many other nations, including ones on the African continent. But I’m really not concerned with any other location than the US.  I’m not a citizen of any other country.  People in other countries deal with their own issues in their own ways.  My struggle here has little to do with their policies and experiences there.

What I was addressing, and will continue to address is the experience of POCs-  not just blacks, but Hispanics, Arab Americans, Asians, and Native Americans, in America, where the power structure is most beneficial to whites. It is shortsighted not to acknowledge that structure and its effect upon POCs.  If you, at ANYTIME can open ANY magazine, turn on ANY channel, listen to ANY politician and find a positive representation of yourself and your race IMMEDIATELY, you have a privilege that POCs don’t.  POCs don’t have that option.  I find my positive representations through geared toward my race- not those geared toward the general public.  This is just an example.  

Racial animus- which sucks because who wants to be judged on the color of their skin- is NOT the same as racism.  I want you to understand that I am not saying blacks have a corner on racism.  What I’m saying is American whites do not experience it.  POCs do. Whites experience animus based upon the power structure.  The same can be true for men in the patriarchal power structure.

Oh, and that little bit you threw in about women, psychologists, physicians, and religions have worked to prove women a weaker sex- not less than human (we’ll ignore the crap about women being more susceptible to demon possession since the argument is that it’s because we are the weaker sex- and everyone doesn’t believe in demons). There is a difference. Yep, it sucks, but no. “Weaker sex” leads to overprotective and sexist legislation and belittling of feminine traits. “Less than human” means treated and controlled as property or being experimented on like animals without consent. Sex should not be compared to race.  They are two separate issues and shouldn’t be discussed as if they are the same.
